About Us

Who We Are

Tonso Garments Apprenticeship Centre (TGAC) is a nonprofit Community-Based Organization (CBO) committed to empowering youth, women, and vulnerable individuals through practical vocational skills training in fashion design and garment production.

Established on 2nd March 2017, TGAC was founded to address unemployment and limited access to skills development opportunities in Uganda.

Through accessible, hands-on training, mentorship, and entrepreneurship development, we equip learners with the skills needed for self-reliance, employment, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our History

Founded as a grassroots initiative in 2017, TGAC began with a simple vision: to empower communities through practical skills.

What started as a small vocational training effort has grown into a recognized nonprofit Centre transforming lives through education, mentorship, and opportunity creation.

Today, TGAC continues to equip individuals with the skills needed to break cycles of poverty and build independent futures.

OYARO TONNY provides strategic leadership and overall direction for Tonso Garments Apprenticeship Centre. He is committed to advancing vocational excellence through practical training, creativity, and innovation in garment production and fashion design.

Under his leadership, TGAC continues to create opportunities for young people to acquire marketable skills, develop professional confidence, and build sustainable careers in the garment and fashion industry.

His vision is centered on transforming vocational education into a pathway for employment, entrepreneurship, and community development.
